Nada Yoga and Meditation Course - 8 week course starts 6th March

 

This course is for those wishing to explore the subtle, healing and transformative practice of Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound. Meditation and relaxation techniques are weaved through this course as we explore the healing sound vibrations of the ancient Sanskrit language of mantra. This language is said to have been chanelled by great sages who were tunes into the frequencies of the cosmos and the subtle internal sounds of consciousness.
 
The course will give an introduction to the chakras (energy centres of the body) and how mantra and sound can be used to purify, balance and awaken each of these centres.
 
Swara, the chakra toning scales will be practiced along with the bhija mantras which are the seed sounds of the chakras, used to awaken dormant energies in the body.
 
The meditation practice of awareness of internal sounds will be taught along with other meditation techniques which support and enhance deep peacefulness and inner wisdom.
 
One of the techniques taught will be the practice of yoga nidra, a deep relaxation technique where the body sleeps but the mind stays alert and active in a space between waking and sleeping known as the hypnogogic state.  In this space we will attune to the sounds of the mantras and explore the chakras and the effects of the sounds on the psychic body.
 
 
On completion of the course students will have developed the skills and confidence to be able to practice nada yoga, meditation and yoga nidra deep relaxation in their own daily lives.
