This course is for those who able to reasonably confidently lead kirtan in a small group. It follows on from Kirtan Level 1 but anyone wishing to expand their kirtan practice is welcome to attend.
The course is an opportunity to develop confidence and to fine tune your skills as a kirtanist and as part of a group supporting the kirtan. There will be space each week for each participant to lead kirtans and to receive constructive feedback and support from the group.
Detailed feedback and guidance will be offered from the instructors on energy work, rhythm, vocals, working with musicians, microphones and the many other aspects that go towards being able to confidently lead kirtan in any sized group.
We will explore more deeply into a variety aspects of kirtan such as the cultivation of bhav (the feeling quality of the practice), energy work, mantra and altered sates. There is also the opportunity for development of basic percussion instrument skills which add energy and spark to kirtan practice.
